Partnership for Drug-Free Kids Extends Helpline Hours for Families in Need

The Partnership for Drug-Free Kids (the Partnership), a CSIP partner, recently extended the hours for its popular helpline. The helpline is now available from 9AM to 12AM EST Monday through Friday (Saturday and Sunday 12PM to 5PM EST). Helpline staff can be reached via the Partnership’s website or by phone, text, or Facebook Messenger. Parents calling the helpline find bilingual support services and a connection to the Partnership’s Parent Coaching program.

The coaching program has over 300 volunteers and connects parents with others who have already gone through addiction with their children. These trained parent coaches provide guidance and support over a series of 45 minute sessions, lasting about 5-6 weeks. Through this resource and all of its tools, the Partnership has been a source of support for families in need for over 30 years.

In 2018, CSIP and the Partnership launched MedicineSafe, a coalition of national and state public and private partners, to provide expert information and tools for safely managing prescription drugs and opioid addiction. It’s mission is to educate consumers, provide free resources, and save lives.
