The mission of the Center for Safe Internet Pharmacies (CSIP) is to promote and encourage safe online pharmacies through education, enforcement, and information sharing.

CSIP is committed to raising public awareness about the potentially life-threatening problems associated with illicit online pharmacies and counterfeit medications purchased through these illegal enterprises. We work closely with our member organizations and partners to ensure access to curated resources, up-to-date and archived reports, and frequent news and blog updates related to private, public, and educational efforts to educate about the importance of safe online pharmacies.

Together with a growing group of U.S. states, supportive nonprofits, and other organizations, we offer online pharmacy verification, powered by LegitScript, through our co-sponsored portal VerifyBeforeYouBuy.org. We offer access to potential savings to consumers for locally-sourced prescription medications through the portal SaveOnMyMeds.org. Finally, in the wake of the ongoing crisis of opioid and pharmaceutical addiction in the United States, we are working closely with concerned organizations, such as the Partnership for Drug Free Kids, to educate consumers and others on vital addiction support and other related resources.

Our members Microsoft and Google sponsor our search engine ads through Bing and Google Search to raise awareness to those shopping online for medications at the point at which they are most vulnerable to exploitation by criminals peddling fake pharmaceuticals. Finally we provide timely updates on this and other information through our social media presences on Facebook and Twitter.
