On behalf of the Center for Safe Internet Pharmacies (CSIP), I was a guest speaker for last week’s Merchant Acquirers’ Committee conference in Las Vegas, NV. The session topic was: “Practical Solutions to Protecting Your Business and Consumers from Illegal Pharmacies.” There was ample conversation around the growing threat of illegal online pharmacies during the presentation and panel discussions. LegitScript also contributed to the discussion around the origins and challenges of rogue pharmacies, specifically the liabilities caused to business and consumers. CSIP is grateful to have a new audience of merchant accounts who are interested in understanding the origins of illegal pharmacies and how they may be a threat to merchant accounts and payment processors alike. We look forward to collaborating on ways to keep consumers safe and sharing best practices for addressing the challenges associated with illegal online pharmacies.
