CSIP Executive Director To Speak at Geneva WTO Public Forum

mclifton colorMarjorie Clifton, executive director of CSIP, is attending the 2013 World Trade Organization (WTO) Public Forum in Geneva from Oct 1-3, 2013. This year’s focus is “Expanding Trade through Innovation in the Digital Economy”.

Marjorie is speaking on the panel “Facing the Challenges of Trade in the Digital Age”, hosted by the Global Intellectual Property Center, and will be joined by members of the International Anti-Counterfeiting Coalition. She’ll be highlighting the collaborative work of CSIP members and address issues related to illegal online pharmacies and the need for continuing consumer awareness.

By way of background, the WTO Public Forum is an annual event that provides a platform for public debate across a wide range of WTO issues and trade topics. The Public Forum is also an opportunity for WTO members to listen and exchange views with NGOs, academia, the private sector, with those who participate in shaping the world’s economic and political environment. This year’s Public Forum looks at the future of trade in an era of innovation and digitalization.
