Chad Benson recently interviewed Courtney Hunter from our collaborator organization, The Partnership for Drug-Free Kids, about the current state of the opioid crisis in the United States, particularly as it is impacting children and young adults. Issues discussed include the need to see the issue as a public health crisis and not only an addiction problem and the ways in which insurance companies regularly pay for opioids due to cheaper costs and overlook coverage for alternatives which are not addictive.
